My thought on the childish, thoughtless "99%" protesters. They need to get their facts straight. 53% of American wage earners pay ALL of the federal taxes. The other 47% of wage earners gets a free ride. You're welcome.

With a federalist system of government we have taxation of the federal, state and town level. Sales taxes, Propriety taxes, Tolls and Fares -- we all pay these. And that's not including the payroll tax, used to fund social security, which applies only to the first $106,800 earned.
The 47% who don't pay federal income taxes *do* have to pay payroll, state and local taxes. And because of their income, the percentage this 47% pays in these taxes is a larger portion of their income.
The demand that these people have to carry more weight, when the wealthiest Americans pay such a lower percentage of their wealth, is a perverse flipping of public policy.
By the way, if you do want this 47% percent to pay federal taxes, how about we get the average income of a worker up -- it's been flat for the last 30 years while the GDP of the US has doubled.
