An iTunes artwork I did for Piictu few weeks ago. Apple actually use it as to promote the app as an iPhone App Of The Week in several countries, unfortunately, except the US App Store. Maybe next time :)

However, I did two versions because I wasn't sure if it's ok to use photos of people and body part crops. Here are both. What do you think?

I'm for version #2, because it seems more "secretively" and it will work better I think.

Version #1, no need to be secret as you are trying to sell your brand after a split second of looking at the banner. This communicates the fun you can have with it.

As long as you have written permission to use images of the people present in those little thumbnails then that should cover you. Then, it's whether Apple are ok with faces of people in the banner image... don't see why they wouldn't be.

Both very nice, I'd lean towards #1 as it gives a better idea of what the app is about though.

I like the photos. It gives it a clear sense of what the app is. Also, photos in themselves are visually appealing.

Very #2. To me it feels less generic which may cause an impact. The first version seems like "every other app".
