iTunes is a well designed piece of software, which keeps fairly strictly to a white/lightgrey/blue colour scheme.
So why is the 'Now Playing' part of the player such a nasty yellowy green? (see attached for original)

I'm pretty sure it's a holdover from emulating the days of the amber green LCD panels we remember from the 80s and 90s.
Had a discussion about this with colleagues, we arrived at the same conclusion. I still find that idea out-dated, however.
