Thanks to feedback on the previous direction I've started narrowing down on this particular approach. It's quite a departure from the previous one, but feels more like an actual logo, with less potential for pushback (especially given the religious minefield of the previous one).
I think I will keep the icons around for other parts of the overall visual identity though.
Nice. This is looking much, much stronger. I like this idea a lot, but wasn't feeling the other one so much. Outside of the other comments I didn't see that one being able to scale well or work in alternative formats.
Major step up from your previous ideas. It's awesome to see the evolution in this process. I'm sure this is the kind of thing Coach had in mind when he put together this league
Thanks all. I wouldn't have hit upon this idea if it weren't for Dribbble in general, Chris Harrison's comment in particular, so I fully agree with Trevor: what a great league for upping one's game.
I think what might make this logo even stronger is if all the colored globes were influencing the others. In other words, each segment of color seems to stand alone; it would look neat if each color was slightly transparent so that it inherited some of the hue behind it. Might create a more unified mark that better conveyed unity.
Nice work! Really dig the middle version with the color - seems to have the most opportunity for expanded usage (like color themes for content types from your original concept.) The left feels a tad too tight, and the right feels a tad too loose - something in between with the same monochromatic color group would give the colorful version some competition for me.
one thing that hit me on first look is that when viewing at the dribbble small thumb size the outer parts of the logo break down a bit and look more sketchy and the style clashes with the clean outline of the heart. Maybe there's just too much orange? I'm the wrong person to offer suggestions :)

Dave: I love the middle version. It reminds me slightly of the logo for the Museum of London.

I like this new direction, and I think the one in the middle would unite the other icons and colors well.

loving this version, I personally thing I'd go for the circles from third logo and the colours of the second.

Wow, this is a very nice improvement from the last shot!
I vote the middle one. The colors, to me, represent diversity more than the other two versions.
