Admittedly, this might be a bit detailed for an icon, but I got carried away and couldn't help myself.

Is this for an font app? It is very detailed, and maybe too much for an icon as you mention, but it looks pretty good, and looking at some recent icons on mac, more details seams to be a trend.

Love it, seriously, but the wood detail seems skinned instead of honest wear. Still, really love it.

Thanks guys. I still like it, maybe I'll use it on the website as an illustration. I've been trying 8 or 10 different variations, testing them out in context, but when it comes down to it, it just doesn't fit in the design language of the dock. It needs to be less realistic to work, I think.

Ok this one, I think I'm finally happy with. You would not believe the amount of textures and perspectives and colors I've gone through. The dark ones were too dark, the light ones too cute, the wood was too realistic and the perspective was just... off. But this one is a good in-between with all those. I think it fits in well, and I'm relieved to move on.
