I think a flat shadow (not feathered) would look batter for the elements since the illustration is more retro/clean. The feathered drop shadow clashes with that.
I agree with conway about the flat shadow. That's the one part of the illustration that I'm not in love with. Other than that, it's INCREDIBLE! The wood is so awesome.

Awesomeness. I think maybe a little adjustments on the window inner shadow.

This is so sweet. I love the look & feel of it.
A couple of things that I see:
I feel it would look more realistic if the mouse was pointing towards the left.
Also, the shadow on the window seems a bit too gray. Maybe adding a blue hue can help make it look more realistic too.
What do you think?

Love the guinness poster! Agree about the shadows, a flat shadow would be perfect.

can anyone let me know what this 'flat shadow' ? -- sorry if that sounds noobish, my expertise is not illustration.

I'm pretty sure a 'flat shadow' is just a shadow with no blurry edges. (i.e. bringing the size all the way down in Ps on a drop shadow.)

Right, that's what I meant as well. It feels more inline with the vintage style.
