Kief Kype Foundry

Kief is an independent type foundry founded by type and graphic designer Mohamed Gaber, aiming to produce high quality libre arabic fonts besides offering all exclusive type design services to our clients.

Gaber as a self taught type and graphic designer, I believe knowledge should be accessible. This is why we also aim to publish articles about the technicalities of arabic type design that will be available on our blog.

Some of the fonts we are producing will be published as open source libre fonts, meaning we will be sharing the source files of the fonts, which I believe would offer guidance to part of the arabic font production process.

كيف مصنع خطوط مستقل أسسه مصمم الخطوط والجرافيك محمد جابر، يهدف لإنتاج خطوط عربية حرة/مجانية عالية الجودة إلى جانب تقديم خدمات تصميم الخطوط الحصرية الأخرى لعملائها.

جابر كمصمم خطوط وجرافيك طوّر ادواته ومعرفته بنفسه عبر البحث والتجربة، مؤمن بأن المعرفة يجب ان تكون متوفرة وممكن الوصول لها، لذلك فإن جزء من مهمتنا سيكون نشر مقالات عن كيفية تصميم الخط العربي ومراحل انتاجه والتي سيتم نشرها عبر مدونتنا.

بعض من الخطوط التي ننتجها سيتم نشرها كخطوط مفتوحة المصدر، والذي يعني اننا سننشر أيضا الملفات الفتوحة للخطوط الحرة التي نصدرها، لعلها توفر إرشاداً لجزء ومرحلة من مراحل انتاج الخط العربي.
