Sweet work. I'm not crazy about the font choice as it seems a little heavy and western, which to me isn't "simpler".
I really like the texture of the snow on the ground.

Once again, amazing work. I don't agree with the guys about the typeface. I don't think that because the text says the word "simpler" the typeface choice should be a more minimal one. The illustration alone communicates that perfectly.

To clarify, I don't think the typestyle needs to be simple as in minimalistic. I just think it's a bit heavy, blocky and western for a piece that's so touching and delicate.
Either way, I'm merely nitpicking and it's a personal opinion. Craig, it's a really nice work.

I wonder if what people see in the font, and dislike, is that it is very much an Old West typeface, the kind you'd see in a Wanted poster. Not only does it give it a very Western feel, but it both was and was not a simpler time ;-)
