   This will be what my portfolio grid page will look like. The top image with the blue border is the "selected/active" state, and the bottom one is a "hover" state. The image slides up to reveal the title and metadata.

   The blue border is drawn entirely with an HTML5 canvas and placed in the DOM over the image on a click event. This way, the selection can be any size and remain pixel-perfect.
