This is the post icon. Also increased leading, added hairlines as background and fit the text in a frame.

Still unsure about the padding above the post title.

Have you tried removing the circle around the post icon? It's confusing next to the logo and breaks the balance inside the content wrapper.

Tim, I was debating with the post icon as well. It looked a bit "tight" after I added the content wrapper, lacking enough white space around it.

I've tried removing the circle and I hated it that way, but I also tried to remove the whole thing and I really like it.

TBH, I added the post icon because I had it and it looked pretty nice, and didn't put much thought into its usefulness. Now I'm starting to think it isn't necessary, as I'm trying to keep the design fairly clean.

I agree with Tim, the circle (as it is) is kinda confusing. Though if styled correctly it might get you some coherence (like a pattern).

So close to launch. Only missing pagination and archive/about links.

I've ditched the pattern and the post icon. This is simpler, has more contrast, and best of all, I like it a lot more.

I'm very excited about writing. I'm spending more time writing than getting this design done and live.
