Discovering just how challenging it is to be original with something as run-of-the-mill as a loading bar. Feels like this is a metaphorical representation of my progress designing this progress indicator.

Why 3 horizontals? Takes the brain 3 times as long to parse. Looks purdee tho.

Why does it have to be "original"? I would suggest that feeling like it fits is more important than trying to be original or clever in such a case.

Good point, Ryan. Perhaps two instead? http://d.pr/5iw3

Two points for you, Scott. I knew as soon as I wrote "original" I might get called out on that. Convention can be just as beneficial as originality, can't it.

I clicked refresh and saw this, I assumed something was actually loading on the page. /fail

Cameron, I really dig the updated version on 2 lines, but I might think about changing the language to "76% Loaded" from "Loading 76%".

What's that old quote -- "Don't try to be original, just try to be good"... :D

Subtle refining based on tweaking and your feedback: One line of text, slightly darker 'x' button, slightly more vibrant green.
