Winterboard iPhone Theme

Pins

A few of my friends have recently jailbroken their iPhones which got me into the mood of creating custom themes. This is one of the first concepts I came up with that I thought could be a viable option.

I like the idea of the "pins" metaphor and the juxtaposition of a rich texture against the cleanliness of the iPhone hardware. I just slapped together some quick pin icons to see how it looks. I've got another theme idea cooking that I might switch to as well.

Feel free to let me know if this idea is lame. :)

Thanks fellas. I think if I really spend time getting the pins nailed down it'll look even better.

I agree with the others, Phil. While I might tone down the background a little bit - the overall concept is rad!

This is a great idea (pins + tack-board). Makes me wish Apple allowed for official theming.

Thanks guys. It's a bit hard to make out here but the background is actually a canvas bag (like a shoulder bag). My full comp has a seam as the dividing line between the main app section and the bottom dock.

    I'd jailbreak for this.
Also, having them a bit tilted would not make it any less magnificent.

I dig 'em, Phil. I could picture an alternate background of corkboard, so the pins are sticking into it.

@Luke - Good idea. I was thinking on ways to make these pins not appear so repetitive and having them a bit tilted just might do the trick.

@Dan - Thanks! I've also thought about alternate backgrounds, but mostly in the line of different kinds of canvas bags/items. Doing a corkboard is an interesting idea.
