More logotype exploration... Still got my grid, but it's not quite as obvious. L/R probably need a spacing tweak, but I'm liking the stye on this one...
Brought back the halftone, just for kicks...

like this version better than the other…2¢
it's much better than the last one. but man, that first one was off the hook! I know readability was an issue on it, but tsk tsk... dunno.
this one looks very "Michael Spitz" and it works. I just have such a warm spot for the first version.
In my opinion, rework the first one and work on the readability on the type and you should get that one to work. It was so stand-out!
Diggin this Mike!
Hey, I really like this! What if you did something in a sort of "upright cursive" that uses the halftone shadow thing you have going on? Might be the right way to marry the grid, the curves, the shadows, and legibility.
Definitely feeling this one Michael.
Soooo sick! The "U" is killer!!!!!!
I love that the shading is consistant with the "D" & "U"!
Great work Mike. Love the "U".
I really like the style of the letters in this one but I wonder what it would look like in lowercase. I think the word reads better in lowercase (whether you keep the D capital or not).
I'm really liking this one a lot! Much more readable, especially which a name that is a bit different.
Those shadows rock.
That's some classy shit.
I don't know how I feel about the shadows on the "d","u", and "l". I might try something different. Works well on the other characters that actually have some horizontal lines though.
I agree with Emir, in a perfect world, readability could get bent and the first one wins, but if it does matter, this is definitely a much more acceptable compromise than the second one. :)
super sweet type!
I loved your other mockups of this but honestly this is my far my favorite so far. Really awesome, and of course much easier to read :)
This one the best yet - readable & utilizes that sweet shadow effect.
I prefer this one over the square one. But I think think the first type you made was better.
I still love the first one. It had much more character. I think this is a good middle ground between the first two but I wonder what it would look like if the D, U and L did not have the shadows seeing as how they dont have any overlapping parts. Just my 2¢.
Best version of all imho !
