The concept is based on the age-old alchemic practice of attempting to artificially mass produce gold by way of fusion/synthesis with other elements. Since gold has only one stable isotope (the element Au) a massive chemical reaction would need to occur to generate this isotope.
Much appreciated guys :) BTW, Did you know there is only x3 active protons difference between Lead & Gold. They're 'chemically' different...reaction to solvents, melting temp, etc...but, if you were to extract those x3 protons from lead theoretically, you would have gold.
Interestingly out of all the logos I researched incorporating a Mortar & pestle, around 9 out of 10 had the pestle pointing to the right. I wonder if it has anything to with left or right-sided brain or, given that the pestle is slightly phallic - if there is a psychology/symbology there...just thinking out loud.

Not to be a pain in your ass, but this instantly reminded me of the Prairie Stone logo by Capsule, pg 19 of The book 'Logos' by the same agency.

Let there by type...

First draft with type. I've used Monteverdi Small Caps by Fountain Type for the title & Proxima Nova for the tagline.
