    This is without a doubt prettier and more user-friendly than the existing design. But when you look at it from an engineering point of view, it becomes clear why Apple didn't pursue this concept.
    For example: how would this screen adapt to orientation changes? It wouldn't be pretty if apps were displayed in different orientations and redrawing them wouldn't be possible without allowing some sort of background processing.
