Exploring hover states of toolbar icons. Still not sure whether to add active state. If I add it, I'm thinking of something similar to normal state.

I would love to hear your thoughts and ideas!

I really like this, especially the notification hover colour.

I'm afraid I don't have ideas for active state, but I the normal state icons may look nicer with a more subtle dropshadow, and maybe even a slightly darker one. Especially the settings icon since it has these tiny parts and they look a bit jaggy on their own.

By the way, what's the name of that handwritten font you used for footnotes?

Thanks Sergei! Good point regarding normal state drop shadow.

The typeface is Rabiohead, I like it quite a lot.

This is great. Love the hover states. As an active state, maybe you could take a look at how Google+ does it's alert? Just thinking?

The white drop shadow on the left icons is a bit strong for my tastes.

Thanks Ted! White drop shadow already fixed in the current version. Will see about g+ notifications.

I really like how you've used a single white and dark line on the bottom of the icons (along with color) to make the hover effect appear as though the icon is spilling out! really neat
