I like that it's so clean. What's the down arrow signifying in the top right? If the upload is in process, should it be an active image of some sort to let the user know the upload is continuously working?

The arrow triggers a collapse of the bar which will display the title/text that is there by default before an upload. It's a little clearer when you see all the process screens in order. MIght need to tweak some more.
