I have been working on a new blog - 'Tweet-sized advice for designers and design clients by seasoned professionals collected from questions posted on Twitter' - http://design-survival.com/ - I would gladly accept any advice for the site from Dribbble members.
The logo has a few different things going on to cover the various topics I plan to post.
Crossed pencils - This conveys the battle that is freelancing, when I started I felt that it was a real struggle and the crossed pencils represent this. It also covers the written aspect of the content.
Wireless mouse - Communication, networking and the control over individual projects.
Computer - The actual work aspect.
The Book - Learning and personal development/ Time out to relax
101 - Getting to grips with the basics, both design and business.
It has been mentioned the monitor and mouse are a bit too curvy so would be interested to get a few more opinions.
Nice logo Rich. I think that you're doing really big things for design community. This is small step for you but paramount for all of us. I guess this will lead me one step closer to go absolutely freelance :)
Thanks Stefan, if you would like to contribute something to either topic pls feel free to add it in the comment section and I will place it into the article.

Hey Andrej thanks for the comment, I got the impression you were a full time freelancer, planning on making the jump soon?

I work at ad agency and I am a part time freelancer for now.
I definitely want to be my own boss someday but how soon it will be...we'll see...
