Believe it or not, this shot and the next one are from the same basic Processing sketch as the rebound. The differences are just adjustments in the parameters.

When I do stuff like this I give myself a bunch of variables and then just play at refreshing the palette, resetting the shapes, tweaking the settings etc. and seeing what results. I generate hundreds, keep a few dozen at most, and end up finding only a few gems worth publishing.

Great background task while watching Wall St. and Iron Man again on the plane today.

Wonderful, Dave. Is the DoF created by Processing as well?

…the DoF effect is simply stunning!

The DoF was a happy accident actually. It's created by Processing but wasn't necessarily meant to be. I think it's just a by-product of the way this one sketch works; it layers up very transparent ellipses, and the ones that are more loosely clustered end up having a strong DoF effect.

Pretty sure Processing doesn't have any built-in focus controls, but it's also possible I may not have stumbled across them yet.
