@Kyle I would guess its updating who is assigned, but I agree that's confusing as the functionality is in two places.

Ah, just something you guys can't see from the clip. Update is the button that drops down that menu in the first place. I suppose it should have a pressed look in this view.

@Josh, the update button should be disabled while that is open. Perhaps replace the contents of the button with an X and CLOSE or HIDE (or something descriptive of what happens when it is clicked while that part is open) so users understand exactly what that button will do when you click it.
