Another idea: make ampersand cut the nearby stem of the letter N. The stem could be then stylized to look like a lock of hair. That way you’d kern basic ampersand shape with more freedom.
Ink traps? Why?
Without them the joint of scissors' finger hole appears much heavier compared to the stroke width elsewhere. The same holds true with the N stems. Especially when printed. What do you think Sandro? Any advice on how to improve it?
