Crystal Sorrow

"Crystal Sorrow" is an illustration inspired by Pavel Bazhov's collection of fairy tales, "The Malachite Casket." This piece recreates the atmosphere of the tale "The Mistress of the Copper Mountain," where events unfold in the mysterious mines of the Ural Mountains.

The illustration embodies this dramatic narrative with exquisite detail. Precise lines, smooth facets, and sharp angles symbolize the unapproachability of the Mistress, as if she herself were stone. However, even in the hardest substance, cracks are discernible, a facet emphasized by the crystal tear.

I love fairy tales! I liked to create a sad but sensitive illustration. I would love to hear your opinion! Thanks for watching and having a good day ☺️
