Re-Move

During my second year of university, I worked with other students to produce a potential solution to problems Gen-Z face in the modern world. We conceptualised an app called 'Re-Move' to tackle mental health issues and promote a healthier and more environmentally-conscious lifestyle. The app focused on 're-moving' yourself from social media by disabling your social media apps, and the only way to unlock them again was to go outside and walk to specific locations. The app would also feature a points-based reward system that works off your step count - the more steps you take, the more points you earn. Once you reach a certain amount of points, a tree would be planted.

My contribution to the project comprised the initial concept and the design of the logo. My thought process behind the mental health side of the design was to take the figure from the well-known 'exit' sign and depict it 'exiting' a smart phone to resemble a person escaping the hold that social media, which is heavily facilitated by our smart phones, has on many of our lives. As for the environmental side, I simply chose a vivid green gradient colour scheme. As a whole, the design is partially inspired by the Instagram logo through its white minimal icon surrounded by a vivid gradient colour scheme.
