Email Template Gallery - Concept

Email Template Gallery

The concept of an extension to the Communications module for Gainsight

Overview

Last year, I worked on revamping the Communications module in Customer Education (CE), one of Gainsight's key products, formerly known as Northpass.

This module is responsible for sending messages, especially system notifications. One major improvement was adding the ability to send personalized messages to groups of learners. This upgrade makes it easier for admins to keep learners informed about new courses, learning paths, or any changes in their academy.

Keeping user convenience at the forefront of the design process, I created a pre-made email templates section. This approach aimed to streamline user experience by providing ready-to-use templates that require minimal customization with relevant content.

The Idea

For the purposes of this concept, I categorized individual email templates into five distinct categories. These categories would be displayed on the main Communications screen, positioned above the table containing created messages.

Recognizing that users' initial interaction with this section would primarily revolve around identifying the type of flow they're building rather than selecting a specific template style, I opted to initially display only the categories.

Upon clicking on one of the categories or selecting the "Browse All Templates" option, the admin is redirected to the template library. Here, they can explore various templates conveniently through user-friendly previews, ultimately selecting the one that best fits their needs.

Once the admin chooses a template and clicks on its tile, they will be presented with a modal containing details of the selected template. Within this screen, the admin can review the description and key benefits, view a preview of the template, and, if satisfied, proceed with using the selected template.

Packaging

This concept was also crafted with monetization in consideration. Within CE, we offer three pricing plans: Essentials, Premium, and Enterprise. As a result, certain functions are accessible or restricted depending on the plan purchased by the admin. Consequently, while some templates may be visible in the library, they will be marked with a special symbol denoting that they are available only after upgrading to a higher plan.
