Admin Dashboard HCP

As a Housecall Pro product designer, I've worked on many features that help our Pro's grow their business. However, just as important are the tools our admins use to support our Pro's. This project was in support of that.

The process

The Failed billing portal needed a new table and home interface view to better find customer data quickly. Some things we needed to consider.

  • The reps are often accessing this data as a response to a call by a pro, therefore the information had to be scannable and easy to find

  • One of the challenges is despite the complex data it had to be easy to quickly find things. This meant triaging what data was used most by reps. This was discovered by multiple interviews and ghosting sessions watching reps interact with the tool.

  • We didn't have components to build some of these requested features.

The Solution

I quickly realized that we'd need several new components to implement this design. Since we sit on a MUI base I was able to pull in the table to figma and customize it to housecall Pro standards AND make it easy to update and change in the future. I also made the component available to other designers to grab and drop into their designs. As far as making the data scannable I broke things out into cards and developed a heirarchy for the data based on the user interviews I conducted at the start of this project. The design was a great success and is currently in use. I plan on iterating and adding more to this on a as needed basis.
