JY-REA ROYAL JORDANIAN EMBRAER E195-E2 PROFIT HUNTER
Royal Jordanian (RJ, Amman Queen Alia) took delivery of its first two E195-E2s on January 25. On dry lease from Azorra Aviation, the duo are the first of eight E2 regional jets due to join the airline's fleet.
JY-REA (msn 19020116) and JY-REB (msn 19020123) were delivered from Sao Jose dos Campos via Recife and Gran Canaria to Amman Queen Alia. They are part of an agreement announced in May 2023, which encompasses eight aircraft in total – six from Azorra’s existing backlog with Embraer (five E195-E2s and one E190-E2), plus two more E195-E2 firm orders from the airline directly from Embraer. They will gradually replace and grow Royal Jordanian’s current regional jet fleet, which currently comprises two E175s and two E195s.
