I've been working on these cute little pins, they're still work in progress, but I feel like I'm getting closer. Check out the full view and let me know which lighting you would prefer. Keep in mind the UI is nowhere close to be polished.

Oh I also listened Jason Wu's spot on advice and made the big buttons more of a freehand style to match the overall theme.

I kind of enjoy where this project is going.

Feedback would be appreciated as always.

    great stuff.

new buttons look good, nice texture. button looks a bit dark/dull in the full view, but it has a nice gleam on the screen

I think the buttons are a little too wonky for me. I think they can feel hand done, but look a little more presentable.

Well done. The black border around the button seems a bit heavy to me.

The whole bottom bar still irks me. I feel it should be more 'traditional'.

I think the grey pin has the "right" shadow when you look at the one cast by the torn paper. Lookin good!

I like the freehand/wonky buttons, but the way they sit on the bar seems a little off. Have you considered moving the big buttons down into the tab bar more, to only the top edge rather than the whole shape is visible? Seems like they should either be centered on the edge between the map and the tab bar, or fully committed to one side. Everything else is just awesome though, texture and colors are spot on. Great inspiration.

I really like the style of the big buttons. I agree they could get a bit smaller though. Also, I worry about the text labels for the tab bar. The handwritten style works in the top bar, but readability is definitely harder at the small size.

The right pin's shadow definitely fits more with the top-down light source used in the rest of the app. Looks great, too!

Agree with the comments above with regards to the shadows, the pin on the rhs definitely works better although I'm thinking the pin heads themselves could perhaps do with more contrast?

If the orange were against a road it'll struggle to stand out - likewise the green against forests etc

Really loving the fact you've gone down a different route with the buttons/torn paper/etc - looks great (although the black stroke around the main buttons is overkill imho) :D
