@Jaime: both Photoshop and Illustrator have basic 3D functionality built in, and sometimes it's nice to use them to model perspective/lighting. I rarely use that functionality for anything more than reference, but it can save you a lot of time.
Also SketchUp is good to quickly whip stuff together and experiment.

The concept here is awesome.
I guess you already know, since this is a sketch, but some of the perspective is a little wonky. But other than that, I love it.

@Michael: Both? I thought about it for a few days, but once I had a good drawing on paper, it didn't take long at all to digitize.
