@Justin You're right, in practice the tag is cut off, which probably isn't a good thing. I originally wanted the phone to match the content width, but I could probably scale it down to make the tag visible. Thanks!
Having these three sizes side-by-side lends itself to better explain the point I was going to make, which is to take a look at how much the user is going to have to swipe up and down to "see" the site rather than see all (or at least the majority of) the site if it were to appear on a mobile device as it does on a desktop device.
Having used adaptive web design in a number of commercial projects, it's become increasingly evident that you should only take this approach if it is strictly required and not because it's what "everyone else" is doing because failing to do so will damage the UX.
