Really love how this is turning out, but, as nicely as you've handled it, I'm still not sold on the wood BG. Personally not a fan of wood and apps, generally speaking. This looks so good though, I
ll have to wait and use it before I can really say.
Maybe having a few user-selectable background is a possible solution, maybe it's not even a problem, I don't know.
Zach: I can understand how some people may dislike wooden backgrounds, but I must say I think the wooden background has, much like the gloss effect, gotten an undeserved bad reputation due to misuse.
The only real critique I have is that the gradient encapsulating the indicators (to the far left) feels a tad too sharp.
Have you tried grouping the tasks due for one day in the same box? Not sure if it's a good idea (if things like drag and drop can be solved in a sensible way) but it might strengthen the cohesion between tasks.
Fredrik:
Yeah, still working on those status indicators :)
Good point! There will probably be sub tasks for each task, and drag and drop could, as you said, be hard to solve with a solution like that. But I'll try it out! :)
Haven't worked much with wooden backgrounds before. I'm pretty happy with the results.

This looks great. I love the wood texture under the UI elements, they blend nicely together.

Well what good is having 10,000,000 clones if they won't pickup your stuff for you!
Looks really nice.

Same thoughts as Zach—I'm not usually a fan of the wooden textures either, but this appears to be an exception. Really, really nice work.

I like it, just wondering if it sits a little close to Wunderlist with that wooden background.

Pete: I can see what you mean. Wunderlist hasn't been an inspiration to me, but I'll keep that in mind.

It's like Things and Wunderlist had a baby and the baby is an evolved mutant child.

To be honest I like it, and I'd say stick with it. The rest of the components work really well together.
Besides, anything is better than that cross-hatch textile texture Apple has spawned everywhere :D

Really digging this. I wonder if the whole item should get a hover state rather than just the checkbox?

Pontus, I agree, and I think you've handled it fantastically. Can't wait to use this for myself!

Dude this is so gorgeous — perfect spacing, shadows, gradients, outer glow, texture, everything!

Lovely shot overall, especially the check boxes!
