I'm not sure on the dotted red border. But I love everything else. Very impressive.

Tyler, looking good. A few comments:

    1. Love that you used the angles from United in the border. Nice touch.
    2. I disagree with with @Paulo; I really like the dotted red rollover. Just make sure you carry it into the rest of the design.
    3. Between the black/yellow + decorative border, does it get a little too close to Ismael Burciaga's site? I mean, this is the danger of being too aware of everything that's happening on the Internet. Everything looks like something else.

@Abraham, Yesenia, Davy, Paulo: Thanks guys!

@Sean: I'm looking forward to seeing it go live as well :) Means I'm finally done staying up 'til 4AM working on it :P

@Jay: The dotted border and the dark grey text indicates an active state, I was thinking for rollover I would just make the text turn black.

Personally, I am not worried about it being similar - yellow and black has been part of my branding thus far (as seen in my previous dribbble shots) and I believe this is actually quite different than Ismael's design. My portfolio will give off more of an industrial vibe than anything else. I'm a fan of his work, but I think saying black/yellow & a decorative border belongs to him is a stretch IMHO :)

I do understand where you're coming from, however. Where do we draw the line? If I had instead changed my beloved yellow to, say, a rusty-red then comparisons would most likely be few and far between. Certainly the last thing I want is to draw comparisons to Ismael's website, especially in an industry where I've found success by differentiating myself from "glossy" designs.

I like it, especially the red border. The finished product should be awesome.

i really like the overall direction, but with one prod.

should the nav text be a different font from the logo? maybe a serif?

@Jonathan: I was wondering the same thing myself. I'll play around with a few and see which ones I like best :) Thanks for the suggestion!

Finally launched my portfolio this morning, as if I didn't do it today it would probably be neglected like a number of personal projects.

Would love to know what you think, so head on over.
