One of a few concepts I am throwing around for an online company called the 97th Floor. Not a completed logo design but just prelim concept stage.
The general idea is to somehow convey the sense of height and prestige that accompanies offices situated high up in tall buildings and skyscrapers.
The placement of the text allowed me to keep the visible height of the building reasonable whilst hinting we are just looking at the top portion rather the entire building.
The single white space denotes the elevator, for which the client wanted, high up in the building where we could assume it has stopped at the 97th Floor.

Lovely idea with the elevator. So freakin' cool. I also like the accompanying text which feels solid and a bit retro to me, which I think is a nice added bonus.
Personally I'd prefer the text to be a tad smaller, but overall I just love this Graham.
Guess we're somewhat on the same page as my next efforts will be dedicated for a new client call Terminal Eleven. Obviously I already have a nice kind of terminal in mind :).
Gert van Duinen: Think you're right with the font size but I have the feeling this concept direction is not on the overall list but is my personal favourite. Just wanted to air it… :)
Looking forward to seeing how you visualise Terminal. #nopressure
It's always good to air some personal favourites as well I think.
As for the Terminal, I already visualized it something like this:
That concept was made for the same purpose, as I just wanted to air it and see how people react to it.
I hope big brother isn't watching this :)
I really like the concept. Awesome idea. I am not a fan of the building yet though.
Could use some fine tuning but the concept is great.
Jason and Sarah: yeah it's very early days not so sure this is the direction the client wants to take anyway. But wanted to just get some initial feedback on the general possibility of it… :0)
Looking forward to seeing where it goes.
It's a great start Graham.
Keep us posted :)
Liking it so far!
