If anything I'd say emphasise what users can do. Assuming these are essentially tags they'd need to be easily scannable and distinct although sure that Sam is adding some funky filtering capabilities into the mix.
Availability on the other hand could nicely be conveyed with some suitable iconography.

I like this a lot. As a suggestion I'd say add a little highlight around the yellow area, and add a small drop shadow, so to create a little bit more of 3D effect, like what you did on the darker boxes but to the contrary.
Also, I'd make the text inside the textfields dark gray or so, and the checkmark in the circle just a little bigger.

Looks marvellous Sam, I love the inner shadow on the users, and the colour scheme too!
However, for some reason, the tick icon looks ever so slightly out of place in my opinion. Its like it doesn't suit the design. Maybe adjusting the grey colour might work?
