The world’s most secure calendar

One of the most rewarding aspects of working on ProtonCalendar was our unwavering commitment to user privacy. As the UX designer, I was responsible for ensuring that our design decisions aligned with this core principle. This involved designing features such as end-to-end encryption for calendar events, robust data protection mechanisms, and clear user interfaces to communicate these security measures. Proton Calendar is the world’s only calendar that uses end-to-end encryption and cryptographic verification to protect your entire schedule.

Secured by strong encryption

A calendar is a record of your life and contacts, and it contains some of your most sensitive online data. Proton Calendar helps you keep it safe automatically.

With Proton Calendar, all of an event’s critical information, like the title, description, location, and attendees, are stored securely and privately with end-to-end encryption. Not even Proton can read your event details.

Events

The primary objective was to enhance the user experience in creating repeating events and improve schedule management. My proposed solutions included an event creation flow with clear recurrence options and an advanced mode for custom recurrence patterns. Efforts were also directed towards ensuring a consistent experience across mobile and desktop platforms. The next steps involved prototyping these solutions and conducting usability testing to validate the improvements, aiming to simplify the process and provide flexibility.

Multiple Calendars

The initial phase involved an in-depth analysis of user requirements and preferences, identifying diverse needs such as personal, professional, and collaborative scheduling. Subsequently, I devised a flexible architecture capable of accommodating multiple calendars seamlessly. Each calendar type was designed with customizable colors, allowing users to effortlessly distinguish and manage various aspects of their lives. The result is a sophisticated and user-centric ProtonCalendar, empowering individuals to effortlessly organize and synchronize different facets of their busy lives with unparalleled ease and efficiency.
