I'm guessing a lot of designers here have been working on this icon. :)

Love the gloss on the bottom of the bubbles :)
The lights look a little odd though.

Yah, definitely looks pretty damn close to one of Parthiban's http://dribbble.com/shots/106780-iPhone-App-Icon-2

The lights have a harsh dark inset ring around them, but everything else has softer edges. The bubbles feel very full, but the lights feel very thin and feel more like a bunch of layer styles than something that was painted or styled custom.

Seeing icons at this size are very misleading though. Something that looks bad at this size, may look totally correct when scaled down in the real view.

I was about to say the same thing Patrick, it reminded me a lot of Parthiban's. What happned to that guy? He's a young genius and fell off the face of the Earth. He must have gotten snagged up by someone and working on something big, hehe.

This looks really awesome! Only thing that's throwing me off is...if the right bubble is over top the left, shouldnt the left bubble be embedded deeper into the background material? They're the same depth into the material right now no? Nevertheless, the detail here is amazing! Nice work!

Agreed with Patrick - Either the left bubble needs to be deeper or the right bubble needs to come out more somehow.

Your inspiration for this is dangerously close to - http://dribbble.com/shots/106780-iPhone-App-Icon-2 and even use the same colors as his other shot here - http://dribbble.com/shots/93368-iPhone-App-Icon

The bubbles themselves have an awesome shine to them - simple but perfect; however I'm not a fan of the indendation they're sitting in; looks a bit wrong around the top - but I can't put my finger on why.

Also as others have mentioned the depth of the overlapping bubbles doesn't really make sense given their equal height whilst sitting in the indentation - it's a bit Escher :p

Ah I think I figured out why a few bits look off - there are different light-sources for different elements. The bubble shine is top-down, but the shadow the right bubble is casting on the left bubble is right-left and the indentation seems to be evenly lit from our POV.

    As a follow-up…

Overall I prefer the design of your icon, however the lighting is more consistent here: http://dribbble.com/shots/106780-iPhone-App-Icon-2
