Hockey Vignette Thing

It's a WIP, but i'm messing around for initial branding explorations for a website that features hockey writing content.... and it went off in a totally random direction. dribbble used to like this technique a few months ago, is it still trendy? probably not, but still decided to have a little fun with this one.
