Lee Lawrie - Winged Sculpture (1924)

There are many sculptures and reliefs at the Rockefeller Center in New York which inspired me a lot with its typical Art Deco vibe. Especially, I really loved those reliefs and wondered who designed such beautiful works.

Lee Lawrie (1877 ~ 1963) was an American architectural sculptor. He designed and created a statue at the top of the Nebraska Capitol, Rockefeller Center, and many places across the United States.

One of his sculptures, Winged Sculpture(1924) inspired me to create this illustration. This time, I tried to minimize using gradients and attempted to mix lines and flat colors. I'm not sure what she holds, but I assume it must be related to mother nature, so I added the moon, sun and grains, and mountains in the background.
