Of course this is awesome... would love to see the "please" integrated a little more into the "send queso". Maybe the base of the "P" or the "E" in "please" extends down. Kinda feels like the "S" and "Q" are making it bottom heavy on the left too.
I know, I'm the jerk actually giving the unsolicited feedback. Sorry! Regardless, you're still a pimp!
Simon H: not sure, but this is still just a comp, so if it goes over well with the client I'll fine-tune it.
Matt: not at all, man - I definitely appreciate the feedback. Would love it if I could figure out a way to integrate "please" with the rest - all my efforts felt forced, and I didn't want to push it just for the sake of it. But I'll try a couple more sketches - it still may be doable in a way that has a natural flow. As it is right now, this thing was a balance-nightmare so I reckon I'm going to take a break for a couple days.
I love this design. We were was passing it amongst all my Texas Exes out here in LA when it first started popping up on Tumblr. SoCal really needs to get on the queso band wagon. I could go for some Kerby queso right now.

Stop. Being. That. Damn. Good.
Great job. I really like what you do with the subtle colors for the soup.
EDIT: Isn't there a small issue with the texture right at the top left of the bowl? It looks like there's a seam.

While everyone is liking the S to Q (as it is very nice), I myself am digging the D to U combo.

Dammit, I miss South Texas, where every restaurant had queso on the menu. Damn San Francisco, you queso-less city.

Yes, please! I miss Austin. Super lettering Simon. That transition from the S and Q is tight like a tiger.
