    Because of the perspective on the blue bars that seem to wrap around and go behind the dark grey bar, the shadow on the grey bar feels jarring, like, it should go on the left rather than on the right. The edge feels slightly incongruent.

    Oh right I see what you mean about it going on the left rather than on the right. I have received feedback for this site from several people and it's difficult to decide what to do. The shadow can be removed or toned down, but it's more the grey sidebar that might be taking visual precedence over the main content.
