This short advertisement for OSSI TOYS, GIFTS & HOBBIES. I utilized Blender's Grease Pencil tool that lets you draw in 2D. You can achieve a 2.5D look by utilizing the 3D environment with 2D elements. This emphasizes the brand with a more friendly doodle look to appeal to kids and their families.

We took inspiration from 7Up's mascot and to get that feeling of nostalgia for parents and the relatable doodles of little kids.

At the time Grease Pencil or 2D animations was still new and only a small percentage of the community experimenting it at the time. Converting 3D mesh to Grease pencil was still a new feature in 2.8x I tried experimenting and this was the result.

OSSI SKETCH v.1

We wanted to keep it simple for the mascot to be easily animated in 2D or in 3D space. At first we went with using basic letters as the body parts of the mascot then the direction went to to a racer with helmets and gloves. We weren't fully satisfied as they're not really relatable to a child's daily appearance.

OSSI SKETCH v.2

We made it more simple rather than a cyanide and happiness type of look, we went to a simple stick figure with circular hands and feets and with clothes.

The design is simple like a child's drawing and appearance.
