Calls Central Emergency

Can you imagine the kind of software that the emergency service use to deal with calls? 🚨

Two years ago, a briefing for a potential UX/UI Design job position had been handled to me. These are the screens that I made at the time.

Login central emergency

“Lisbon, December 29, 2018, early morning, a 31-year-old men driving a cash transport armoured car loses control of the vehicle and crashes into a traffic light. The driver is able to get out of the car a few seconds before it starts to burn. Somehow he mangages to dial 112 from his mobile phone and says to the operator« Help! I had an accident ... the car is on fire... Is an armored cash transport ... » and then he faints on the ground.”Did you ever call to 112? Can you imagine the kind of software that they use to deal with calls?

Dashboard, today team stats, individual stats, last calls

My mission has to envision the workings of the 112 Emergency Call Management system and design GUIs for it.

History, and reports of the calls

How do the operator knows that the accident occured in Lisbon?

What info does the operator have access to? Can they have access to the name associated to the number that called? Can they have more info than that?

The service that caller was doing is usually performed by more than one employee per vehicle, where is the other one? What is their state?

The other employee, or perhaps another person that testifies the accident, may attempt calling for the same occurence? How to triangulate several calls for the same occurrence?

The operator needs to call to several rescue services. Needs to send firefighters because the vehicle is on fire, needs to send an ambulance to the caller, and probably the police as well because of the cash.

Popup to select the emergency services

For a few of the problems I raised I displayed a solution. For the other questions I didn't come up with a design solution because I truly felt the need of having more insights before designing solutions.

I hope you liked it! 🚑 💨
