I'm ok with the fact that the letter A isn't sitting central within the circle. I didn't think I would be.

Simple, but nice. I like where you're going with the hover effect.

Appreciating the simplicity in what you're going for here Jack.

It's hard to tell without seeing the whole page, but the circle does seem proportionally large in relation to the other elements. I don't think the 'A' inside is working as well as it could do. I'd be tempted to try a different face, heavier weight, scale it down a bit and get in bang-on centre. Sorry if that sounded a bit critical... as I said: I like where you're headed man ;)

I agree with @Robbie. While the large A is certainly attractive, it doesn't appear to be lined up with anything, nor the large circle it sits atop.

    Thanks for feedback guys.

@Robbie - The whole page is incredibly simple, nothing fancy at all. The main content will fall directly below the menu, contained within a box of roughly 480 pixels.

I quite liked the idea of using the same font throughout the site, for all elements, what would you suggest as a new font? When I had the A central within the circle it just seemed too bottom heavy.

@Luke - The top of the A should be lined up with the first navigational item but that's about it to be honest.

You guys aren't being critical, you know what you're talking about :)

I like your idea of using only one typeface for text elements, but this is really a marque of some kind, isn't it?

It's hard to recommend a face without knowing what you want it to 'say'. So far, the work looks elegant, classical, restrained, refined. You could either take that further by using some kind of ornate uppercase A; an italic swash of some kind. Or you could do the opposite: use something strongly geometric and rigid. Take a look at a couple of images on my Flickr account and see what you think. Hope that helps!
