UI/UX Design for CrayonDAOO

Research and Planning

I spent months diving into the NFT space on Solana to get to know the Creators, Builders, and Traders that make up the ecosystem before diving into a product design for CrayonDAOO, a gamified gig marketplace where Creators and Collectors can create and commission one another.

Meet CrayHans my Web3 Identity

Of all the NFT communities I came across none had a more interesting history than the Degenerate Trash Pandas on Solana. The project founder, Pit the Panda, or Redacted J, is the developer who wrote the code for the Candy Machine, the tech that arguably not only saved NFTs on Solana but made Solana as a blockchain what it is today.

After buying my first Degen Trash Panda, designed by Monoliff, the artist and founder of Degenerate Ape Academy, I based my brand and persona around the Crayon Farmer Attribute, a red plaid shirt with Crayons in the pocket.

The Problem: Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt

They call it FUD. Overwhelmingly, the community loves exponential gain but fears volatility. They see value in digital assets but are uncertain that value will ever translate to the "normies" or if nothing else they doubt until, on average, people are making more money than they lose no one will ever care and mass adoption is a distant pipe dream.

The Solution was CrayonDAOO

Operationally, the CrayonDAOO is a Web3 gig marketplace where Art Collectors and Investors can commission NFT Artwork in a variety of styles backed by Proof of Process.

My theory is that if we create job opportunities on Solana and cultivate a culture of teaching and learning by doing and showing our process we can create a blueprint on how to succeed as an artist in Web3.

CrayonDAOO aims to gamify the creative process so members feel motivated to track their professional progress through Web3.

Event Management

I figured it would be great if we can easily create and manage minting events even if multiple artists and collectors needed to RSVP and submit work in the days leading up to an event.

Gamers love E-sports

Esports thrives off competition and hosting Tournaments and Generating Brackets could be a great way to introduce gamers to payment settlement and distribution through Solana.

Making Use of NFT Governance

Beyond transferring funds and awarding grants, I thought it could be fun to introduce Trait Fashion Shows to DAO using Boots.

Deflationary Trait Mechanics

By making 6 hues of each trait, you gain access to Artifact Blending. Red, Yellow, and Blue colored traits or Primary Artifacts, can be combined by burning any two in order to mint a new Secondary Artifact, Orange, Purple or Green.

Equippable traits with deflationary mechanics reward holders with boosts.

Conclusion

None of the things you see here are fully developed yet but we're working on it and getting closer every day. New technology is being created every day so in the spirit of Open-Source transparency I'll be sharing my journey as we build.
