I think you nailed the colour and font pairings, the only thing I was left to play with were the stars! Not rendered as well as I'd like but you get the idea.

Do you have to have the stars? If this is just making you over think it just ignore me ;-)

PS: Since this is going up as a 'debut' for me let me point out this is actually just a rebound of Steve Fishers original, here: http://dribbble.com/shots/210670-Alternate-Colors-

Ha! Nice. You crushed my stars! :P

I did experiment with the gavel, but it felt too american legal system and maybe to obvious. The six point star is a reference to the western six pointed stars from law enforcement. This co is located in the heart of the new west of Canada.

Nice! Really like this color palette over the warmer one. Great job on the type too!

I knew there had to be some reason for the stars, I just didn't know what. I jumped the gun with this literal 'rebound' before asking because I just really wanted to see what a gavel would look like in there. Fun! I can't wait to see everything once your done.

Sooooo are more people liking this one over the original? If so is it because of the gavel or just that the original is well put together (color, type, texture, etc)?

This was the original concept I had with the gavel in it. Thought it was worth showing after Stephan rebounded my shot. Rebounds everywhere!

I definitely like the lil gavel explosion of color. Adds some energy. Great color pairing.
