I felt the need to realign some of our Stream redesign due to the "container-within-container" syndrome that had been present. I also wanted to simplify aesthetics a bit which were a bit much, to be frank.
There is no doubt that this carries the Twitter theme pretty heavily, but reinventing the wheel (usually) isn't a very solution-based prospect. we plan on using the Twitter API in the future and want our users to have a similar experience to what Twitter offers without our users having to acclimate themselves to an entirely different experience.
So slick. This is an interesting project to follow since you're dealing with the same problems as one of our unannounced projects but with a completely different aesthetic.
Looks great! Though I'm not a big fan of all those dropshadows for the content. Maybe it's a bit much, at least for the darker area on the left hand side (with the comments and inbox icons).
And somehow the user dropdown thingy on the left hand side of the main navigation looks a little bit misplaced or lonely.
