Gamification

Gamification on Ratatype — it's my favorite project!  Why Gamification is it so important for learning? — Encouragement to learn: Gamification can create a fun and meaningful learning situation that encourages users to learn. Game elements such as points, achievements, leaderboards, and others can be used to create a competitive atmosphere that stimulates learning.

— Stress reduction: Gamification can reduce users' stress associated with the learning process. The graphical interface and game elements can reduce tension and promote a more calm and relaxed learning process.

— Increased motivation: Gamification can increase users' motivation to learn.

Improved results: Gamification can improve learning outcomes. Game elements and rewards can make the learning process more effective and productive, allowing users to achieve better results in a shorter period of time.

Some years ago we made a minor update in this field. We added 3 small heroes after completing an exercise:

— The star is for completing the exercise.

— The target is for completing the exercise without errors.

— The lighting is for good speed (it can be various in different exercises).

It was good, but not enough. So our next step was to add heroes and coins which you can use for buying heroes. That can help users to return, to do more exercise.
