We Deserve Better

If you’ve been following the news lately, you’ve seen that the Biden administration just approved the creation of the Willow Project, a massive series of oil pipelines in Alaska. I am disappointed in Biden, a president who once promised to lead our country away from fossil fuels. This is a major set back.

Conservationists predict the pipeline will have a major negative impact on the area’s wildlife. Polar bears, yellow-billed loons, and caribou will all be threatened. Oil from the new system will create an estimated 263 million tons of greenhouse gases. Additionally, many indigenous communities oppose the pipeline, which will directly impact their lives.
