Editorial Illustration on The Ethel for AARP

This is an illustration depicting a widow finding company in the wildlife that surrounds her. The art director and I had to figure out a way to make it an uplifting image, while the story itself also mentions loneliness and loss. The color palette was the biggest challenge, but we were able to work together to nail the right tone!
