That scrollbar is a bit wierd. I would make it black and give it more space on the left side. (I think you have to make to window bigger.)

This has a lot of potential. Great concept!
Issues:
In addition to making the scrollbar thinner (as in Lion), I'd make the highlighted icon white or give it some type of glow. Also, I'd sharpen the shadow of the Facebook logo.

its a good start. I would suggest you keep to their style if you can, they use a different style for their timeline arrows and lines, etc.. unless that wasn't your point.
