SAKHAROV.SPACE
Sakharov.space is a virtual museum dedicated to the achievements of the great physicist and human rights activist Andrei Sakharov. The big project in question is the first and only one of its type. Our goal in telling Sakharov's life story was to maintain his legacy and his dedication to the cause of human rights.
We felt free to use contemporary design approaches in this project, and it worked out perfectly. As an illustration, we developed 3D models of Sakharov and set them using WebGL. We were able to more closely approximate Sakharov's features in the 3D model thanks to the archive pictures. After that, we animated it to give it a vintage film vibe.
With several levels of immersion, the museum's design enables it to engage a varied audience. For example, a visitor can learn about Sakharov's personality in 7 minutes by viewing a movie or spend 30 minutes immersed in an interactive chronology of his life.
A library has been created with a thorough biography of Sakharov, texts on the scientist, and his own works for anyone who are interested. Visitors will have access to a sizable archive that contains numerous images, rare papers, videos, and audio files.
The work is unique in terms of development because 15% of it uses WebGL and 85% of it is developed on Webflow.
